Himari Takanashi (小鳥遊 ひまり, Takanashi Himari) is a deuteragonist in Demi-chan wa Kataritai.

She is Hikari Takanashi's twin sister who is a normal human girl.

Appearance

Himari has red hair tied in twin tails which flow over her shoulders. She has gold eyes like her sister, but slightly darker.

Personality

Not too dissimilar to Himari's vampiric sister, she is as kindhearted as her twin, but she is much more serious. She constantly looks over her twin sister and hopes to make the her more mature, to which she somewhat admits is a rather futile attempt.

Relationships

Hikari Takanashi

Himari has a good relationship with her sister that she often allows Hikari to nibble on her to sate Hikari's need to bite something. Himari is also really strict with her and she hates her laziness, and her pranks like sending suggestive texts involving incidents with Tetsuo which Hikari intentionally words making Tetsuo look like a creep, Himari has told Hikari many times that she needs to stop messing with her teacher and she needs to be responsible for herself.

Tetsuo Takahashi

She started with a rocky relationship with him due to Hikari's awful phrasing of situations that were all accidents or Hikari's doing, this would make Himari confront Tetsuo but she would immediately apologize to him after hearing his side of the argument. She respects her teacher and always apologizes for Hikari

Etymology

• Himari's surname Takanashi means "little bird, small bird" (小鳥) (taka) and "play" (遊) (nashi).

Trivia

• Though Himari flusters at the comment of her hair being an unnatural color, it's unlikely she dyes her hair, given her personality. Himari, however, does not have brown hair like her parents, suggesting its either a dormant trait from one her parents' families, or a side-effect of being a demi's twin.
