Kyoko Machi (町 京子, Machi Kyōko) is a main character in Demi-chan wa Kataritai series. She is a shy Dullahan who always has her head detached from her body.

Appearance

Machi is a Dullahan, meaning her head is separate from her body. Due to this, she lacks having any neck, instead having a non-warm green flame in its place; her head also has no neck at its base.

She has fair skin and ginger hair cut short and spiking in all directions, due to her head being difficult to carry with longer hair. She is also quite a bit taller than a good portion of her classmates, despite the fact that her head isn't on her body. She is also fit with muscular arms due to her always carrying her head around. She is also voluptuous for her age,

She can often be seen in her school uniform, though she wears a blue vest in the summer as well as short sleeved shirt instead of her usual long sleeve one.

Personality

Machi is very kind and patient having to constantly work around her head being separate from her body, she is clever enough to figure out ways to do things that require both her hands. She is extremely intelligent, having placed 5th in the midterms and 1st in the proficiency exam. Machi enjoys studying and aiding her friends.

She is easily flustered and very expressive with her body.

Machi genuinely enjoys being held by others and despises being alone, as to move around either her own body or someone else has to pick up her head.

Machi becomes interested in her demi species thanks to Tetsuo Takahashi; because ethics is a barrier for researchers, Machi believes that if she became one, she would be able to unlock the secrets of Dullahan biology.

Tetsuo Takahashi

Machi has a school-girl crush on her teacher Mr. Takahashi. He has a mentor like relationship with her and treats her kindly like his other students which makes her crush even harder. Kyoko goes to Tetsuo if she wants to be coddled as her parents say that she it too old but Kyoko likes being pampered so Tetsuo gladly holds her head and hugs her body too if she needs it. it can get awkward as Kyoko breast press against Tetsuo and they both get flustered

Hikari Takanashi

They are best friends, Kyoko however dislikes it when Hikari gets a mischievous idea as it always ends badly, Kyoko wishes that Hikari wouldn't mess with her body so much as it is annoying.

Yuki Kusakabe

Kyoko is friends with Yuki, at first Kyoko thought that Yuki hated her as she was a Dullahan but it was revealed that Yuki was just distancing herself to protect others

Sakie Sato

Kyoko likes talking to Sakie about romance as they both love the same person

Etymology

• The name Kyoko means "capital city" (京) (kyo) and "child" (子) (ko).
• Kyoko's surname Machi means "town" (町).

Trivia

• Machi has to wear a sweatervest during the summer days at school due to the fact she sweats so much that her shirt becomes see through.
  • Plus, the fact she is well-endowed means she's had managed to subconsciously find a way to balance her head while constantly bonking it against her chest, while walking; which one would think would be disorienting.
• Machi is one of three known dullahans.
• Machi is curious about the mysteries of her demi species. Soma believes the idea of finding a way to reattach Machi's head may be possible if study into dimensions progressed with her consent as a subject and researcher.
• When Machi is extremely flustered, her flame tends to rocket upwards.
• She was a normal child until her toddler years. Then her head fell off all of a sudden.
